Noted hard rockers BILLION DOLLAR BABIES have a well-earned reputation as one of Sweden’s most entertaining and explosive live bands. Over the last decade and more than 250 concerts all over Europe, including some of the biggest festivals in Sweden, fans have learned to expect nothing less than the best from the band.
The album Chemical God was recorded under the guidance of well-known producer Rikard Löfgren (Mustasch, Enforcer, Sister Sin) and is above and beyond everything the band has released before. The lead-off single and album title track Everyone’s In Love With A Chemical God opens the curtain on a sinister but oh-so-tempting stage set from a dark musical with massive guitar riffs and strong melodies.
The band serves up a highly volatile cocktail that sounds like the unholy offspring of Ozzy Osbourne and Rob Zombie starring in a darkmusical written by Beelzebub himself and directed by Quentin Tarantino.
IN THE BEGINNING
Hailing from Falun in the middle of Sweden BILLION DOLLAR BABIES started as the unruly brain-child of lead singer Frankie Rich early 2005. The idea was to redraw the map to fit the band’s own designs and nobody else’s. All considerations as to what was considered hip went out the window. Heavily influenced by big spectacle US rockers such as Kiss
W.A.S.P, Marilyn Manson and Alice Cooper the band created their own standard for live shows and album sound. To pay the rent while not being on the road the band members took jobs at local theaters and a special effects company. This fired up the creativity for building props and adding effects to their live show. Also their common childhood interest in blowing things up was not lessened from working with pyrotechnics.

QUIT YOUR DAY JOB
After years of playing every pizza joint and rat infested club stage of Sweden, the audiences started to grow and led to shows on some of Swedens biggest festivals at the time. Sweden Rock Festival, Peace & Love and Rockweekend among others.
In 2009-2011 the band quit their jobs and decided to do away with all obstacles standing in their way. Studying at BoomTown Music Education in Borlänge, Sweden, not only enabled the band to spend more time refining their songs and sound but also gave 24-7 access to a professional rehearsal and recording studio.
Early 2011 the band released their first full length album, DIE FOR DIAMONDS , on German label Pure Rock Records and toured Germany, Switzerland and Austria to support the album. The tour left the band wanting more.
CRAFTING THE BILLION DOLLAR BABIES SOUND
During an odd gig as a demonstration band at a course for studio technicians at Dalarna University the band met producer Rikard Löfgren (Mustasch, Enforcer, Sister Sin) which led to a first collaboration on the EP HOUSE OF DREAMS PT.1.
It was clear that Löfgren knew where the band was going musically and he managed to bring out the best of every member. The recording was done live in the studio and brought out a sound that was heavier, dirtier and more alive than ever before.
It was clear that Löfgren knew where the band was going musically and he managed to bring out the best of every member.
The release was supported by a tour of club shows and festivals in Sweden, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Released in may 2012 through Esmeralda Music Group.
THE RECORDING OF CHEMICAL GOD
Between 2012 and 2014 the band kept playing club shows and festivals in Europe while working on new material and scouting for a suitable label to join the team.
In the summer of 2014 the band scraped together every last penny they had to once again hire Rikard Löfgren to produce the new album. To capture as much as possible of the on-stahe energy the band decided to record all guitars, drums and bass tracks live in the studio. Erik Berglund was hired and the recordings started in June 2014 at BoomTown Studio in Borlänge, Sweden.
Vocals, overdubs and mixing were done at Leon Music Studio in Karlstad by Rikard Löfgren.
THE RISE OF THE CHEMICAL GOD
In late 2015 BILLION DOLLAR BABIES signed a deal with German label Metalville to release CHEMICAL GOD in early 2016. The album is to this day the heaviest and grittiest of the bands releases, with lyrics telling dark and decadent tales of power greed, mind-altering chemicals and unhealthy states of mind.
The album got great attention from the press and new fans around the world which led to 5 weeks of touring Europe crossing 36 cities in 13 countries.
Released in February 2015 through Metalville.

THE MAKING OF THE NEW ALBUM 2017-2018
During 2017 the band spent time writing, tweaking and producing 100s of song ideas for the new full length album.
In June the band entered the studio to record the new album with producer Eric Berglund behind the mixing desk. During two months the band recorded 11 tracks that would become a rough and gritty mix of heavy riffs, poisonous melodies and lyrical themes covering power struggles in religion and politics of the modern world.
